The SBC Women’s Ministry
The SBC Women’s Ministry is committed to bringing Christian Sisters together of all ages and backgrounds to: “Work as a unified body to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ everywhere we go, to edify the Body of Christ in all that we do, and to compel others to accept Christ as the Lord and Savior and to become active in their faith”. This mission will be accomplished by providing ongoing learning experiences as we study to show ourselves approved unto God; fellowship opportunities to help us become fitly joined together; and maturing our faith by strengthening ourselves (the body) through prayer, praise & worship and fasting.

Christian Education
The Christian Education Ministry of the Second Baptist Church functions as the catalyst for all Second Baptist Christian education. This task is accomplished in a myriad of ways under the leadership of Pastor Charles Petty and Sister Shirley Brown, Christian Education Ministry Leader. We offer Bible Study each Sunday morning at 9:30 AM consisting of traditional Sunday school classes for ages three through adults. Also, at the 9:30 a.m. hour on Sunday, our Bible School classes are held.
They consist of topical classes such as Evangelism, Christian Doctrine, Identifying My Purpose, Relationships/Marriage Enrichment Seminar, Experiencing God, The Mind of Christ, and the MasterLife Series. In addition, at 9:30 on Sunday morning and various other schedules, we offer certified classes selected from the NBC Leadership School Curriculum to assist individuals in becoming teachers in our Christian Education Leadership Schools held at the Church.
Among our studies on Wednesday night are Prayer, various Books of the Bible, Christian commitment/growth, and Holy Living. Since 2003 we have held Leadership Schools that are certified by the National Baptist Convention, Inc. Christian Education Department , Sunday School Publishing Board, Nashville, TN where students study toward the Christian Education Diploma offered by Nashville. Also, Second Baptist Bible School offers a Diploma to students who complete a prescribed curriculum. We have several students who have earned the Second Baptist Diploma and there are others who are ready to submit paperwork for the First Certificate of Progress toward the CE Diploma from Nashville. We will soon publish a schedule of classes that will be offered through the Leadership School that has just been approved by Nashville.

Youth Ministry
Youth Ministry
The Second Baptist Church Youth Ministry is a ministry of growing youth into a clear understanding of the Word of God, to equip them so that they would be inspired to knowledgeably share the truth with those in whom they come in contact. This is a teaching ministry! Youth will not only learn/sow into their hearts, they will learn how to lead—lead by Christian example. They will learn to: conduct their own Children’s Church (by functioning as worship leader, scriptural reader, prayer leader, welcome leader, ushers, and choir members); perform community service; develop and implement fund raising activities to support their Christian outings; participate in Intermountain General Conference (IGBC) and Southern Baptist Conference activities; as well as learn how to apply biblical Christian principles to their daily lives. The Youth Ministry will place strong emphasis on holy living by learning the Word of God, how to share what they have learned, to include how to draw others to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It is our sincere hope that each youth will ingest a positive outlook on life through the Christian examples they see within Second Baptist Church and its leadership.

Usher's
Ushering is the art of helping the members and visitors feel comfortable and of lending spiritual dignity to the whole church service. Ushering is needed in the worship experience to maintain order, to care for and make comfortable the congregation, and to assist the pastor. Ushers as well as all members of the church should keep in mind to warmly welcome visitors who have come to the Lord's House. The ministry is always in need of additional ushers.
